Kauaʻi CC English Pathways

Effective Fall 2022

For the Career/Technical Pathway, either ENG 106 or ENG 100 fulfills Kauaʻi CC certificate and Associate degree requirements; however, only ENG 100 transfers to Bachelor’s programs.
Students passing ENG 75 can proceed to either:

ENG 106 or
ENG 100 and ENG 100S (Composition I Support).

ENG 100 and ENG 100S (Composition I Support) are corequisite courses for students placing one level below college-ready; ENG 100 without ENG 100S is for students whose placement scores indicate readiness for college-level English.

[1] ENG 106 fulfills KCC Career Technical program writing requirements, but does not fulfill the English requirement for AA transfer degrees. For more information, contact the KCC Counseling & Advising Office at (808) 245-8212.

[2] To address health and safety needs due to COVID-19, UHCC EdReady scores may be used for placement through Academic Year 2022/2023. However, EdReady is not recommended as the sole placement method for students who speak English as a second language. UHCC EdReady must be accessed from uhcc.edready.org to be valid for placement use.
