Football Hosts San Jose State In Homecoming Game

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i football team welcomes conference rival San José State for its annual Homecoming game, Saturday, Oct. 14. Kick-off is 6:00 p.m. at Hawaiian Tel FCU Field at Aloha Stadium.

The Rainbow Warriors (2-4, 0-3 MW) and Spartans (1-6, 0-3) are both winless in Mountain West play. UH will look to snap a four-game losing streak while SJSU has dropped five straight. Hawai'i is also in search of its first Homecoming win since 2011.

Running back Diocemy Saint Juste will look to become just the second UH player to rush for multiple 1,000-yard seasons and the first to do so in consecutive years. The senior from Boynton Beach, Fla., is the nation's third-leading rusher (148.7 ypg) and needs 108 yards to reach 1,000.

The teams first met on the football field in 1936 and the series is tied at 19-19-1. Interestingly, the road team has won the last four meetings and seven of the last nine match-ups.

First-year SJSU head coach Brent Brennan was a graduate assistant at UH in 1998 and is a cousin of former UH quarterback Colt Brennan.
