Mapping Genealogies
11th Annual Center for Pacific Islands Studies Student Conference

Emergent research from Oceania has been exploring the complexity of navigating genealogies routed and rooted across our sea of islands. This year's student conference encourages scholarship (re)presenting and (re)imagining genealogical relations among people, places, and ideas to map out new spaces of mutual responsibility and action.

The conference will feature the work of Pacific scholars, artists, community organizers, and others. Students of all academic levels and from any institution have been invited to present. The general public is invited and welcome to attend.

This year’s CPIS Student Conference will be held entirely in-person.

We are grateful to our co-sponsors, the Departments of English, Ethnic Studies, History, Indigenous Politics within Political Science, and Kamakūokalani Center for Hawaiian Studies.
